The Sacred Valley |
|
The Green House hotel is located in the heart of The Sacred Valley. The Sacred valley is an excellent base for exploring the Cusco region, including Machu Picchu and the inca trail, with the advantage of better climate, lower altitude and calmer environment than the city of Cusco. For independent visitors, wanting to explore the length of the Valley between Ollantaytambo and Pisac on public transport it is very easy, with cheap and frequent public buses, which can be hailed down anywhere. Some visitors are beginning to use the valley instead of Cusco as there base, traveling there straight off the plane from Lima. The Sacred Valley, along the Vilcanota River, stretches for about hundred kilometers between Pisac and Machu Picchu and includes some of the most beautiful places and the majority of the monuments that were built during the Empire of the Incas. It is a succession of picturesque towns and beautiful colonial churches. The Sacred Valley of the Incas is an important tourist attraction which stands out for its handicraft markets, geographic and cultural attractions. |
