Urubamba

The Green House hotel is located very near Urubamba. You can easily reach Urubamba from the hotel by bus (15 minutes) or in a taxi (10 minutes).

This is lively town with a vast choice of good restaurants and local fruit and vegetable markets as well as small supermarkets.

A starting point to explore Moray and Maras

Salinas of Maras

These are mineral salt mines. The local inhabitants channel salt water from a spring towards shallow pools in which the water, through evaporation caused by the sun’s heat, leaves on the surface the salt which is then treated to be sold on the local market.

Moray

It is considered that this place was an important agricultural experimentation center during Inca Times. The Salinas and Moray can be reached by taking a bus from The Green House to Urubamba and a taxi from there for the tour of both sites.
